Students are required to wear simple uniforms in order to promote a disciplined, safe, and distraction-free learning environment. The dress code cultivates a sense of corporate identity and encourages students to express their individuality in ways other than external appearance. It is designed to minimize negative peer pressure, simplify decisions for parents, and cultivate modesty and decorum.
Students in PreK-5th grade wear Dress Uniform every Monday, for special occasions, and as otherwise directed. K-5th grade students wear PE uniforms to school the day they have PE. Other days students may wear Dress Uniform or Regular Uniform items. On Friday students may wear a green or black Archers hooded sweatshirt. When the weather dips below 40° students should bring an extra coat for recess and PE.
Students in 6th-8th grade wear Dress Uniform every Monday, for special occasions, and as otherwise directed. Students in 6th-8th grade wear PE uniforms to school the day they have PE. Other days students may wear Dress Uniform or Regular Uniform items. Students may wear their house shirt on PE day. On the day of an Archers athletic event, students participating in that event may wear their warm-up jacket.

*For the 2018-19 and 2019-20 school years, we are phasing out the old uniform guidelines. All items (except white socks/tights) from this document may still be worn during those years, but we encourage you to purchase any new items from the above guides.

The St. Stephen’s Uniform Swap gives families a way to trade outgrown uniforms with other St. Stephen’s families in order to reduce the need to buy new uniform pieces.
Currently, the Uniform Swap Shop is scheduled for once a year. However, the Uniform Swap also has an online request system for requesting items once a month. See the Uniform Swap Guidelines below for more information.
