… we spent Wednesday reading Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan. This book takes place on the pioneer prairie and has references to the coast of Maine. The girls wore bonnets, and the boys wore bandannas. Along with reading the book, the students began dual diary entries in their “Sarah Diary” and “Oregon Diary” and created paper flower gardens to exhibit flowers from both places. In the morning, they made homemade biscuits to enjoy at lunch while listening to more of the book!
