National Merit Scholarship Winner

Brandt Bergeron, a senior at St. Stephen’s Academy, has been named a National Merit Scholarship Winner.

Approximately 7,400 scholarship winners are chosen from a pool of 1.5 million students across the nation. The selection process is clearly competitive; Brandt’s award was based on his academic performance, two sets of test scores, a personal essay, his activities and leadership role, the school’s curriculum and grading system, and a written recommendation from the headmaster.

St. Stephen’s Academy is proud of this hardworking senior. Headmaster John Breckenridge describes Brandt as “an excellent scholar and a better young man. We are thankful that we’ve been able to see him develop and flourish here at St. Stephen’s Academy. We are excited to see what is next on his plate as he enters college and beyond.”

Brandt plans to attend Baylor University this fall, where will be participating in two programs: the Baylor Honors College and the Baylor Business Fellows. In addition to the National Merit Scholarship, Brandt has been awarded Baylor University’s Regent’s Gold Scholarship.
