HOW CAN I APPLY?

"When we came to Oregon from out of state, we had the option to move to any area within a reasonable drive from Portland. We chose to settle in Beaverton because of St. Stephen's Academy. The warm, caring atmosphere of the school, along with the academic strength and classical focus, were exactly what we wanted for our children."

The St. Stephen's Academy Archery Team was founded in September 2009, under the leadership of Mike Mayo.  Currently the team is open to Grammar 4 - Rhetoric 3 students.

Archery is an ancient competitive Olympic sport, and the St. Stephen's team competes using traditional recurve bows.  The team practices once a week, and periodically shoots at a local outdoor 3-D archery range.  They also participate in monthly indoor tournaments, and will be competing at the state championships in February at Lincoln City.  Competitive distances are determined by age, environment and terrain.

On February 26, 2010, the St. Stephen’s Academy Archery Team competed in the state archery tournament.  The team took first place in traditional recurve – we are so proud of them!

Individual accomplishments at the tournament:

High School Women:  1st, 3rd

High School Men:  2nd, 3rd, 4th

Middle School Girls:  1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th

Middle School Boys:  2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th

Congratulations St. Stephen’s Archers!
