STEM and Classical Education

A few weeks ago we held our first Math and Science Night, an open parent meeting with faculty presentations and discussion that highlighted the purposeful design of our math and science programs and sought to demonstrate the rich fruit we’ve seen over the years in these areas at St. Stephen’s Academy. As I mentioned in my opening comments that night, the natural sciences and “mathematical arts”—arithmetic, geometry, music, and astronomy—have long been essential components of a classical, liberal arts education.
