Chapter 7 – John Breckenridge

This week our reading in Parenting by Dr. Paul Tripp is an especially challenging one. In Chapter 7, “Lost”, he tells us that our children’s primary affliction is “lostness.” Like the Prodigal Son in Luke 15, our children don’t realize they are lost and that they need leading. That is until they realize, through the work of God’s spirit that they are neither autonomous nor self-sufficient. God uses us parents to show compassion and hope to our children while they are figuring out their true condition and their need for Christ.
